PUCP is the absolute leader in 23 areas of knowledge in Peru and shares leadership in Economics with the Universidad del Pacífico. Our performance in the disciplines of Archaeology, Politics and Social Administration, Theology, Law, and Modern Languages is in the top 100 worldwide. Reputation among employers is our most prominent indicator.
The 2024 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) by Subject ranking presents a new achievement for our university community. Published this April 10, PUCP is No. 1 nationally in 24 of the 55 subjects or disciplines considered by QS. At the same time, we are the university with the most classified subjects on the list.
In this ranking edition, we also stand out in 5 thematic areas in which we are in the top 100 worldwide: Archaeology, Politics and Social Administration, and Theology, all in the range of positions from 51 to 100; Law, in 84th place; and Modern Languages, in 93.
Likewise, in Latin America, Law occupies position 8; Modern Languages, 9th place; Sociology is in the top 10; and Business and Administration, in the top 13.
QS disciplines or subjects are a category used by QS that could be equated to “area of knowledge” or “specialty”. In this way, a subject encompasses all work related to a university in that area and may include the work of one or more majors, graduate programs, research centers or institutes. Most QS subjects have exact or very similar names to PUCP undergraduate and graduate programs, so this relationship is easy to identify. Although not all QS areas necessarily coincide with those taught in the PUCP, the latter do fall within the areas considered by QS.
